Terms and conditions
Plain-language terms for every project: payments, cancellation, ownership and support.

1. About these terms
These terms apply to every project and service provided by Jordan Griffiths, trading as Grifflow ("I", "me"), to you ("the client"). Your written proposal or contract adds the specific details for your project. If the two disagree, the signed proposal or contract takes priority.
2. Quotes and proposals
Every project starts with a written quote listing what's included, the timeline and a fixed price. Quotes are valid for 30 days. Anything not listed in the quote is not included and will be quoted separately before any extra work starts.
3. Deposit and payments
- Standard projects (up to 4 weeks): a 50% deposit is due to book the project and start work. The remaining 50% is due on completion, before launch or handover.
- Larger projects (over 4 weeks): 50% deposit to start, 25% at the agreed halfway milestone, and 25% before launch.
- Monthly plans: paid monthly in advance.
- Invoices are due within 7 days. Work and launch pause while a payment is overdue.
- Prices are in the currency stated on your quote. Bank or transfer fees are paid by the sender.
4. Your responsibilities
To keep the project on schedule, you agree to provide content (text, photos, logos, prices), access to any accounts needed, and feedback within 5 working days of each request. Delays in content or feedback may move the launch date.
5. Changes and revisions
Two rounds of changes are included at each stage (design, then build). Further changes, or requests outside the agreed scope, are quoted separately in writing before the work is done.
6. Cancellation
- Before work starts: if you cancel within 7 days of paying the deposit, the deposit is refunded minus a 10% booking fee.
- After work starts: the deposit is non-refundable, as it covers the time reserved and the work completed. If the work completed is worth more than the deposit (for example, a milestone has been reached), the completed work is invoiced at the rates in your quote.
- Paused projects: if I don't hear from you for 30 days, the project is paused; after 60 days without contact it is treated as cancelled under these terms. Restarting may need a new schedule.
- If I have to cancel: you receive a refund for any work paid for but not delivered, and all completed work.
- Monthly plans: cancel at any time with 30 days' notice.
7. Ownership
Once your project is paid in full, you own the finished website, app, designs and code made specifically for you. Until then, ownership stays with me. I keep the right to reuse general tools, techniques and code that aren't specific to your business. Third-party items (fonts, plugins, hosting, app store accounts, stock images) remain under their own licences and should be in your name. I may show the finished work in my portfolio unless you ask me not to in writing.
8. Hosting, accounts and third-party costs
Domains, hosting, app store accounts, paid plugins, payment providers and similar services are paid by you, ideally in your own name, so you stay in control. I'm not responsible for outages, price changes or policy changes made by these third parties.
9. Launch, warranty and support
After launch you get 30 days of free fixes for bugs in my work. This doesn't cover new features, content changes, or problems caused by third-party services, hosting, or changes made by others. Ongoing help is available through a monthly support plan or at an hourly rate.
10. Confidentiality
I keep your business information private and only use it to deliver your project. See the privacy policy.
11. Liability
I take care to deliver quality work, but software can have faults. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid for the project concerned. I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. Please keep your own backups of important content.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Honduras. If a problem comes up, we'll first try to solve it by talking openly and in good faith.
13. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The version that applies to your project is the one in place when you accepted your quote.
